Complex Therapy Plans

CompleX THERAPY PLANS

A complex therapy plan involves a structured grouping of orders with a specific month/day sequence. They mimic Oncology Treatment Plan functionality. These plans, such as bladder instillation and Leuprolide protocols, provide the flexibility to administer treatments with non-standard intervals and adjust days as needed without the need for re-signing.

Differences from Therapy Plans: 

• While you can sign multiple treatments or years, pharmacy requires a signature yearly, so recommend only signing one year at a time.

• Nurses have the ability, if clinically relevant, to move appointments by 28 days, without the need for re-signing. 

• You will not get a communication in Recurring Treatments folder to re-sign after a year

Access Requirements 

• The Complex Therapy Plan activity has been available in PRD since Sept. 23rd, 2024.  It is found within the Therapy Plan activity tab. New Complex Therapy Plans are added as they are approved. There are no generic complex therapy plans. 

• Leuprolide Complex Therapy Plans will be available starting May 12th, 2025.

• This self-guided course and related material is intended to help prescribers become familiar with this functionality.

• There is no additional EUPA required to access Complex Therapy Plans

Setup

This course is designed for active participation. 

• Participants can watch Independent Learning videos, follow along in a training version of Connect Care, and complete the demonstrated actions.
