Purpose
The purpose of this professional learning module is
To become familiar with root causes of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and understand how they manifest in the classroom environment.
To understand how your choices as an educator can mediate the impact of ACEs for students and for yourself.
Goals
After completion of this module, educators will be able to identify and implement research-based strategies of compassionate and trauma-informed care with students with high ACEs.

Objectives
At the end of this module, the learner will be able to:
Describe ACEs and explain how they can negatively impact a child's ability to learn.
Identify strategies that can be implemented in the classroom when working with children with ACEs.
Apply strategies to different scenarios involving working with students with ACEs.
