Our Staff

Dr. Michelle Knerr joined the Companion team as a Veterinarian in September of 2020. She came to us as a newly licensed veterinarian graduating from Ross University of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. She moved to Yakima with her Partner and Daughter in 2019 along with their dog, cat, and skink. Dr. Knerr has a passion for surgery and dentistry.

Dr. Sam McIlvanie, Dvm has been practicing veterinary medicine since graduating from WSU in 1990. He takes a special interest in detailed diagnosis to make sure your little loved one is getting not just the best, but the correct care needed. He has a special interest in diagnostic ultrasound with 18 years of ultrasound experience including echocardiography. Dr McIlvanie has also taken additional courses in laparoscopic and arthroscopic surgery

Diana joined Companion's team in the summer of 1998. She is a graduate of Yakima Valley Community College Veterinary Technician Program and has been a licensed technician since 2001. Diana's love of animals and compassionate, caring attitude are just a couple of reasons why she is a great tech. Her skills aren't too bad either!!! Diana's family includes her husband, 2 kids and numerous dogs, cats and horses.

Jenna joined Companions team in June of 2018. She is a graduate from the Yakima Valley College Veterinary Technician Program and has been a licensed technician since 2018. Jenna’s loved animals and her passion for helping them really shines through in her work. Jenna is a great technician and a lover of all animals, she even fostered and adopted two kittens which she currently has.

Sierra joined Companions team in November of 2019. You will find Sierra answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting Dr’s and Staff. Sierra was raised around animals and has always had a passion for rescue and foster. She has 2 cats and a pet snake of which she rescued all 3. Do not be surprised if you see her holding various animals while she checks you in.

Malorie joined our team in January of 2021, Malorie is one of our veterinary assistants. You will find her assisting Dr’s and other Staff, sanitizing and cleaning, re stocking, or you may even see her at the front desk during the end of the day
