There's a new companion pass promotion currently going on that if you book a RT flight (or 2 one way flights) between 4/3 - 4/5 and fly before 5/24, you'll receive a companion pass for the period of Aug 15-Sep 30. So far, so good.
I noticed that offer says "Not valid on flights purchased with Rapid Rewards points". The terms & conditions state that flights purchased by 4/5 and flown by 5/24 must be revenue flights. That makes sense - you need to buy a flight (not use points) to earn the promotional companion pass.

But does that restriction also apply to the flights from Aug 15-Sep 30? In other words, do my flights between between Aug 15- Sep 30 have to be revenue flights in order to use the companion pass? Or can I book my September flight with points and still use promotional companion pass? That part was not clearly spelled out in the terms & conditions. I know that in the past, when I had earned a full year companion pass, I could use points for my flight and add a companion, but wasn't sure if this promotion is different.
lol, I went ahead and signed up for the promotion just because I sign up for every promotion. This is, I already have a companion pass for my wife, and I don't fly with anyone but my wife, so although I will qualify for the companion pass, I won't get to use it. UNLESS, any of you savvy folks out in the community know something I don't, please share.
Sorry to piggyback to this thread.... some of you may have signed up for the 4/3-4/5 promotion and have taken the flight by now. Do you receive the companion pass after you return from the flight? Will we receive the companion pass on 5/24? Or another date?
As long as the Companion Pass holder has a "paid" ticket they can add a companion to the flight. "Paid" includes reservations made with points, gift cards, vouchers, travel credits, and credit card. You will need to pay the taxes for the companion's fare and it can be paid with almost all the previously mentioned payment methods (no points and not 100% sure about vouchers).
The companion is always a separate reservation/transaction so don't worry about that when considering mixing of payment methods for other travelers. You cannot mix points with any other payment method so as long as you are mixing gift card, voucher, travel credit, credit card you can book all those in one reservation with a maximum 3 different payment methods. I would suggest booking one-way trips to break up the costs and reduce the number of payment methods you will need to use on the reservation.
Same issue here. During the weekend no issues with the workout screen in the companion app. Yesterday no workout info loaded. I have no printscreen, but it was exactly similar as what has been posted earlier. Also it showed the running icon.

My AI2 Companion isn't connecting to AI2 for some reason. I've done everything I could or found on the inter webs to troubleshoot the problem but nothing is working. The app starts fine and I select the QR option and it reads the code and everything but then nothing happens. I've tried putting the code in manually but nothing still. The Emulator connection works fine but the companion is killing me.
After scanning the QR, if I leave the Companion running for about about 2 minute or so unattended It generates an error like "Error 1103 Couldn't connect to Key=" something something, it's quite a long string of characters.
One odd thing that I've noticed is whenever I log in and select my project and go to connect menu, the "Refresh Companion Screen" Option is enabled even before attempting to connect. I don't know if it was like that before or not but it is enabled on the first login for me, always.
I've been using AI2 for quite a while now and have never had any problems, but now I'm frustrated. I've tried legacy connections, I've uninstalled and re-installed the app, I've restarted the PC and phone, I've double checked the connections, reset the connections, nothing is working. Help me please.
I have the same problem in my case when i type the 6 letters and press connect i see a progresses bar that stay up to 35 % and disappear but the companion dos not sow the screen from the app inventor if i select to use legacy connection then i can see the screen of the inventor on my pone for 2 or 3 seconds and after disappear and i have the message on the inventor that the companion disconnect.
I try to access the web page with or with out domain name and i have the same error the server is taking to long to respond.
the companion app freeze after that and i have to restart it.
