Ideas that allow drivers a richer and more accurate experience while using Waze

A small yet impactful idea has more chances of winning and making it to Production, than a BIG one.

Only ideas which pass the initial filtering by staff will be discussed during the Hackathon.

The ideas which will pass the initial filtering will be shared with Waze Staff members so they can choose which teams they want to collaborate with during the Hackathon.

On June 21-22 we will take 4 hours a day to meet online, everyone together, and then split into groups -

Community members and Waze staff will discuss the Community group's idea and start working on it, technically.

On the last hours of June 22nd's event, the teams will present their ideas to the judges!

On June 29th, we will announce the Winners of the Hackathon in a 30 minute long online event!

We hope to deliver the winning idea to production in the months following the Hackathon, but can't make any guarantees.

For chosen ideas, we will share guidelines about creating a document detailing your idea. If no one from your team can attend, staff will use your document.
But it would be great if at least one members of your team is able to join online and represent your idea.

No, one person signs up for the team.

Choose one person from your team who will apply for the entire team.

This person will fill out a spreadsheet to share the following information about all team members:

1. First name

2. Username

3. Email address

4. Country

While applying, we'll also ask you to provide:

1. A team Leader to act as the main point of contact

2. A name for your team

3. And of course - your idea!

That's OK. You can apply on your own, without a team.

This Hackathon is all about having fun together; Community and staff, so it'll be great if you used this opportunity to reach out to members of your local Community to get to know them and maybe create a team with them.

But even if you don't - please don't let it stop you from applying!

We'll connect you with people to join your team in the weeks following your application.

1. A name for your idea

2. A short description (one paragraph), explaining the problem your idea aims to solve

1. Optional: A longer description, with your thoughts around design, flow and more
