Just like the rest of the school, Elementary students start with choice time. Students can write, read, draw, or participate in outdoor games.
In Elementary at The Common School we take project based, experiential learning to a new level. This year in E2, students are using our new rain garden to study water quality alongside an exploration of the Dakota Access Pipeline and the controversy surrounding it.
That's why at The Common School, kids learn in mixed-age classrooms, and have opportunities every day to interact with students of other ages. Family plays a big role too! Just ask us about Big Sing, or our pumpkin harvest.
Parents, guardians and relatives are a big part of the school, and always welcome. They help out in the classroom, volunteer at special events, and join in school-wide activities. Whether you are a current parent, alumnus, or past parent or grandparent, you will always be part of The Common School family.
