Make-up Exam / Quiz Policy: You can make up an exam / a quiz only if you have an official excuse for missing the due date. Otherwise, NO make-ups are granted. Please see the below section about excused absences.
You need to contact and provide me with documentation within 2 days of the missed due day. After this time period, no make-ups will be granted. The following page outlines the university policies for excused absences. Read these policies and be informed before you contact me about a missed due date. Please do not ask for exceptions as I value treating all my students equally.

Late Submission of Assignments: No late assignments are accepted without an official excuse. If you have an official excuse, turn in your assignment for full credit along with your documentation within 2 days after the missed due date. (This does not apply to discussion forum posts / reactions).
Discussion of Graded Assignments: If you wish to contest a grade, you must present me with a typed (either e-mail or paper), well thought out case regarding the evaluation within one week of having received the evaluation, but not before 24 hours have passed. Once you have submitted your argument to me, I will respond in writing within 3 days.
Readings must be completed before the day they are assigned on the course schedule. Be sure to read the book chapters or assigned journal articles, and take notes while reading. Your active participation points are based on your contribution to interactive class discussions.
Written Work must be typed, using 12-point Times or Times New Roman font, double-spaced, stapled, with one-inch margins consistent with APA format. Failure to type any written portion of an assignment results in a 10% point deduction off the whole point value of that assignment. Assignments completed in class as part of class participation may be hand written.
Changes to the schedule may be made at my discretion and if circumstances require. It is your responsibility to note these changes when announced in class or via email.
Students with Disabilities Your success in this class is important to me. If there are circumstances that may affect your performance in this class, please let me know as soon as possible so that we may work together to develop strategies for adapting assignments to meet both your needs and the requirements of the course. The Ross Center for Disability Services at UMass Boston (617.287.7430) provides resources for students with disabilities. You will need to provide documentation of disability to them in order to receive official university services and accommodation
