Because charcuterie is an art form innate of itself. Perfect if you're prepping for a party and need some good reference pictures, or maybe you're just a sucker for presentable appetizers.
And if you'd Like to show off some of your own boards...
American Flag-themed for the 4th of July!
S'more-gasboard! Why? Because you ask too many questions.
How we love happy hour at the lake :)
I don't really know what to say about this one.
Tried to make it Irish Flag colored-ish for St. Paddy's Day :)
Pizza themed!
No special theme, I just like this one.
Char-fruit-erie board!
Here's a fun one! I made a board in Ceramics class, and this is me taking it for a spin. I didn't make the cracker platter though, that was a gift. I don't know if there's anything else I can add without repeating myself, so I guess I'll say this: apricot preserves go well with brie. I think I've found my new favorite jam for cheese and cracker pairing.
Aaand we've got a New Year's one! I tried to do a '26, but it's a little cluttered. I usually like to put the crackers on a separate plate, but I like it better to leave as little space as possible. Sometimes the filter you slap on a picture does a lot of heavy lifting, but there's nothing like seeing it in person. Precisely why I focus on making it presentable.
Christmas ones! Again, got a lot of things, so we had enough for at least a couple more boards. This and the dessert board below is what we brought to a family party.
All this, and I got a lotta new charcuterie stuff for Christmas. Including but not limited to a cookbook. Although it's better for reference pictures than anything. I take charcuterie board "recipes" with a grain of salt, because it's not really about copying anything so it looks exactly like the picture. It's hard to mess up a board when it's about customization, but anyways. My attempt at a "pizza lovers' board" using the assets I had on Christmas Day!
Look at this bad boy. It's not for Hanukkah, I asked mom to "see what she could do for blue foods" to coincide with Percy Jackson Season 2. Which obviously doesn't need my plug, but I gotta say it's pretty damn good so far. You may notice that there are more candies and whatnot, because there really aren't a lot of natural blue foods, but I love all the mixing and matching. Never thought I'd put Gushers on a charcuterie board, and yet here I am. Might not go great with cheese and crackers, but at least it's nice to have all of them individually in one spot. This is what I mean when I say "color schemes are everything." You might have to think outside the box, but it's so worth it.
I know there's nothing else in the picture for scale, but this one's not huge. It was made for just two or three people. Very recent, so I tried to make it Christmassy with the heavier balance of greens, reds, and whites. The plants are fake I admit, but there's nothing wrong with the occasional purely decorative piece. Just, obviously, inform any guests so they don't find out the hard way. Shoutout to Uncle Jon for the jam, which, if you're reading this, yes, we've held onto.
This one's a bit on the smaller side, but just for the sake of a few people to snack on. It's fun with the rainbow from orange to red that I was going for, complete with the meats, fruits, and cheeses all in their own sections. With all that said, it's a little basic with everything organized in one way. There's still color variety and intention behind it, but it doesn't make for something quite as eye-popping. That's fine, since this one wasn't for a party or anything, but if you are prepping a board for a gathering, feel free to mix and match things a little more than this. Like the one below!
This one was for Thanksgiving, I don't know if you can tell from the heavy emphasis on reds and yellows. Color schemes are everything, but don't let that deter you from the limitless customization options! The focus is the variety of meats and cheeses, with there being about four of each. As such, the fruit is almost used more for decor with the added bonus of being edible itself. At least compared to some of my other boards where everything got its own row. This was a big one with how many mouths it had to feed (around eight or nine), but take leftovers into account as well. Maybe you'll be able to make another one for later!
Like this one right here! Made from leveraged assets of the previous one, it's still Thanksgiving. Smaller in scale, but perfect for snacking in the later hours if you ate dinner kinda early like we did.
This one was a first for me. It's fun, a little basic though. Doesn't need the shredded cheese or bits of sausage, they were a bit of an aesthetic choice, but it's generally not the best idea to have anything people have to shove a hand into to grab. It's from this board I learned to at least provide tongs if I do have to keep anything in a bowl. You might also notice that there's not a ton of anything, only had to make it for like four people.
And then there's this one, also made for about four people, mostly from leftovers. You can tell because we were out of brie, among other things.
