In the beginning, there were two fast food companies. Then as they became more popular, more started to arise. The booming business blew up in a way that no one could understand. Consumers became more aware of these brands, and the battle of capturing the mind-share of the consumers started. The first shot in this war started with Wendy's. People noticed Wendy's Twitter account and the sharp jabs they were throwing at their competitors with tweets.
Seeing as Wendy's has created success with their tweets, Arby's decided to get into the game. Their idea was to capture the target demographic of people who watch anime, video games, and TV fans. These people that use Blending Arby's and fandom don't match well but they made it work. Using their food packaging and a very talented artist, these advertisements were created.
What does this graph above tell us? Wendy's is rising two times faster than Arby's in searches over time. No matter what you think about their advertising companies, further research shows this is true. I have taken the data that looks at social media use and the monitoring of consumers. All of the data I collected data was for one hour with four measurements that were taken: Strength, Passion, Reach, and Sentiment. All in all, the future looks good for Wendy's and its square hamburgers. If the trend continues, they will not have to worry about anything.
Wendy's won in the strength (46%) and reach (39.%). That means, their brand has been talked about with more enthusiasm. The reach looks at the influence Wendy's has. With respect to Arby's, they won passion (5%) and sentiment (4:1). While these numbers may look small, there is still a lot to glean from them. Arby's won in passion because its posts appeal to anime, video games, and TV fans. In the sentiment category, I expect the same thing to go. For this, they have more positive mentions about them than negative ones.
Strength - This tells how much a brand had been talked about on social media.
Passion - How much does a individual talk and talk often about the brand.
Reach - Looking at this tells you the influence the brand has on social media.
Sentiment - The range of positive mentions over negative ones.
Google Trends - The graph about shows you how you can visualize data in a form that is digestible.
