We are looking for a fully qualified ECE teacher to join our wonderful team, and guide and support the tamariki, our taonga. The role is part-time 2-3 days negotiable, starting term 2, 2022. Experienced teachers and new graduates welcome to apply.

We are a mixed-age, community-owned, Early Education and Care Centre. We are licensed for up to 20 children, and high-quality teacher:child ratios, allow for a peaceful, nurturing environment and the flexibility to make frequent excursions to the local Foreshore and Ngahere.

Our multi-cultural curriculum is enriched by input from the local community sharing their skills, languages, knowledge about the natural world, tikanga Maori, music, waiata, carpentry and art projects. A passion for teaching and learning about environmental care, kaitiaki, local history our bi-cultural heritage, arts, crafts, music and story-telling are highly valued attributes for applicants willing to join our centre. We would love to employ a teacher with a long term commitment to living in this beautiful area, nestled on the shores of Tikapa te Moana, in the shelter of the Moehau range.

We offer pay equity up to the Kindergarten scale 5, based on teaching experience for certificated teachers, and we have also opted into the pay parity claim as individual NZEI union members. Our educators are supported to participate in professional development opportunities which align with their passions, interests and chosen professional goals to enrich their practice.
