This website is born to spread information and techniques regarding the columns first (or just columns) method, a very unpopular speedsolving method.
What is Columns?
Columns First (or just Columns) is a very old speedsolving method that influenced CFOP and Roux, the two most popular methods. Barely anyone knows about columns and the inheritance it left to modern solving methods. Hence this website: the goal is to spread information about Columns and its variations because, although Columns itself is not a super great method, some crazy variations like Shadowslice Snow Columns are really good once mastered. Also, because both Roux and CFOP take blockbuilding elements from Columns, practicing it as your first method will not lock your mindset on CFOP (which is what happens most of the times using the actual simplest beginner method). So to answer the question "what is columns?": a piece of speedsolving history worth knowing about.
