From Advocacy to Artistry
People often ask:
"How long have you been painting? and/or
"How did you get into this?"
For many years, my career was dedicated to work helping special needs & at-risk children & youth which is where my journey as an artist serving other's began. The kids would show me a picture & I would attempt to replicate their chosen art with paint. It became a therapeutic way to connect, bringing moments of calm and creativity to high-pressure environment.
A Legacy of Community
What started as a way to help youth blossomed into a lifelong passion. Painting at events across Southern Ontario including local company holiday gatherings, birthday parties and popular music concert festivals such as "Edgefest".
For many years; being a foster parent to teenagers & my career were the primary focus. However, I always looked forward to opportunities to utilize my brushes painting at private events & charities including:
• McMaster Hospital Children’s Oncology Unit
• Children’s Aid events (Over 25 years)
• Interval House (Shelter for women & children)
• Chance to Dance - Easter Seals
SPCA to name a few.
The ColourPop Experience
In 2018, ColourPop Facepaint officially became a registered business after being inspired from a course with the International Face Painting School. Today, the little facepaint hobby is recognized as one of the city's premier face & body art entertainment services. More than painting faces, we provide engaging & interactive performance art.
• True Versatility: Most events require a set menu for order & efficiency. However, when time permits, we can usually paint most anything a guest can imagine. If you can show us a photo, we can most likely bring it to life.
When you book ColourPop, you aren’t just getting face painters; you’re getting professional artists dedicated to safety, authentic connection, and bringing a genuine smile to everyone we meet. 😊
