A Legacy of Service,
A Lifetime of Art
My journey has always been about the people of my community. Long before I officially founded ColourPop Facepaint, my life was dedicated to a career in social services & and being a foster parent to some pretty amazing teenagers (who are all adults now & very much a part of my life today).
From Leadership to Artistry
In 2013, I was deeply honored to receive the Dave Weber Distinguished Leadership award - a recognition given to one individual annually for their dedication to our city's most vulnerable children & youth in need of a helping hand. At that time, my "leadership" happened in boardrooms, residential care homes, and justice settings.
Today, that leadership has taken on a more colourful form. After retiring from my former career, I turned my lifelong passion for "therapeutic art" into a full-time mission of joy.
Award-Winning Joy
I am thrilled to share that the community has spoken again: ColourPop Facepaint is the 2026 Canadian Choice Award Winner for Face Painting in Hamilton.
To go from being recognized for crisis leadership to being celebrated for "Live Performance Art" is a full-circle moment I never could have imagined. Whether I was supporting high-risk youth, mentoring others to do the same, or painting a superhero at a birthday party today, my goal has remained the same: to leave people better than I found them.
Why This Matters for Your Event
When you book ColourPop, you are hiring more than an artist. You are hiring:
• A Community Pillar: Someone with a 30-year track record of professional integrity and community care.
• Top-Tier Talent: A service recognized by the city for excellence and creativity.
• A Human Connection: A team that values kindness, safety, and a "human-first" approach to entertainment.
From the local art gallery to your backyard, we bring an award-winning touch to every face we paint.
