Slavery Second Slavery Segregation Criminal Justice Art

The EJI Legacy Museum tells of the history of colored individuals of America. The museum walks people through history's timeline, sharing accounts of slavery, lynching, segregation, and injustice. While many may think that these injustices are gone in today's world, the museum reminds us that these issues are still very relevant.

These jars contain soil from the various locations in which people were lynched. It goes to show that even places most thought untouched by racial injustice were affected. A video next to the jars said "What if dirt could talk?". We should consider how many people were terrorized on that very soil in the past and how many continue to be oppressed on the surrounding soil today.
