Ambient Light Measurement: automatically determine the optimum display luminance for comparing prints to your display, based on a measurement of the lighting conditions where prints will be viewed

Ambient Light Smart Control: the intensity or amount of ambient light surrounding your workspace affects the way you perceive colors on your display. ColorChecker Display Pro can compensate for this effect and provide the option to automatically adjust your profile or simply notify you as ambient light conditions change

Workflow Flexibility: advanced user-defined controls support more sophisticated workflows. For example, White Point can be set from predefined values, custom xy values, based on measurement of ambient light, based on measurement of another display, or from previously measured values, etc.

I already have a Xrite i1 display pro device, I am trying to gather information about this new model called calibrite Color Checker Display pro which replaces the i1 display pro. The older device works with displaycal on linux X11. I am going to gift this device to someone using linux so I wanted to know if someone has used it or has any experience with this.

This is to calibrate my Windows 11 Lenovo laptop, whose out-of-box calibration was horrendous. The windows calibration tool and online tests did not give desired results, and looking forward for hardware based calibration for good contrast, natural color reproduction and just an overall 'easy on the eyes' display.

And by the way, calibration / profiling is not a one-time process; displays age, calibration drifts, and periodic re-calibration / re-profiling is desirable. I usually do it about every six months, and although the changes are never more than subtle, sometimes they're visible. YMMV.

I agree with the other sentiments regarding looking on ebay for a used x-rite display or calibrate device. Also consider the Datacolor Spyder devices too - these are occasionally discounted in amazon black Friday sales (the SpyderX Pro is current 99 down from 159 in the UK)

The Aura Carver 10.1" HD Digital Frame is a great way to put your portfolio on display and a great way to surface forgotten memories. The colors are vibrant, and the build quality is solid, but the Carver isn't without a few quirks.

Intelligent Iterative Profiling: in simple terms, allows your profile to be as accurate as possible every time you use this solution.

Multiple Monitor Profiling: Colour correct up to four separate displays powered by one computer (based on your graphics card capability).

Now your projected presentations can display your work in the best light and colour possible. Thanks to our projector profiling, you can easily create a custom profile for a projector or large panel display directly from your laptop in just a few minutes. The profiling process accounts for all room conditions, including projected colours, screen colour, and ambient room lighting, ensuring that your presentation looks exactly as you intended. With this technology, you can confidently showcase your work and know that people will see it exactly as you want.

The ColorChecker Display Plus should be positioned with the face of the meter squarely in contact with the center of a flat panel or rear projector screen, to block ambient light. The cable counterweight can be draped over the top of the display to facilitate this.
