Family History and Hereditary Cancer
Overview of the Colorado Cancer Screening Program (CCSP) Family History Cancer Risk Screening Tool Implementation Project
The Colorado Cancer Screening Program (CCSP) is providing technical assistance, training, and support to clinic systems to implement a familial and genetic cancer risk screening tool in a primary care setting. The tool is adapted from the Colorado Generations Program and is intended to be administered using a population-based approach with support from patient navigators and the primary care team. A positive (yes) response to any question prompts a referral for genetic counseling and may warrant genetic testing and/or recommendations for screening or medical management.
