The Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama are proud to announce our September fundraiser in support of Wild Alabama, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and preserving Alabama’s forests, wilderness, and natural spaces.
Wild Alabama works to safeguard the beauty and biodiversity of our state while also promoting outdoor education and conservation for future generations. By supporting this cause, we’re helping ensure that Alabama’s wild places remain protected, accessible, and thriving.
October 2025: Colonel's for NORD
Colonel Brian Sutton’s five-year-old son has been diagnosed with MPPH (Megalencephaly-Polymicrogyria-Polydactyly-Hydrocephalus) syndrome, a very rare genetic disorder. Families affected by rare conditions like MPPH often face uncertainty, limited resources, and very few treatment options.
That’s why we are partnering with the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD)—a leading nonprofit dedicated to supporting patients, advancing research, and providing hope for families impacted by rare diseases.
By raising funds for NORD, we aim to shine a light on MPPH and other rare disorders, ensuring that no child or family has to face these challenges alone. Every contribution helps NORD expand patient support, fund groundbreaking research, and bring communities together in the fight against rare diseases.
Together, we can make a real difference.
November 2025: Colonels Against Hunger
At the Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama, our mission has always been simple — to lend a helping hand to those in need and to stand up for our neighbors when it matters most.
This month, we’re raising funds for No Kid Hungry, an organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger in America. Millions of children across the country face empty plates every day — not because their parents don’t care, but because they simply can’t afford enough food.
Here in our own communities, that reality hits close to home. We believe no child should ever have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. That’s why we’re stepping up to help No Kid Hungry provide nutritious meals, support local food programs, and bring hope to families struggling to make ends meet.
Your donation — no matter the amount — can make a real difference.
$10 helps feed a child for a week.
$25 provides meals to a classroom.
$100 can help a community program reach even more families.
Together, we can make sure every child starts their day with a full stomach and a fair chance.
Join us in this effort. Let’s show what kindness can do when we work as one.
Thank you for supporting this cause and helping us build a stronger, more caring Alabama — one meal at a time.
December 2025: Colonels for Nick's Kids
The Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama choose a cause that embodies the spirit of giving, hope, and community.
This year, we are proud to support Nick’s Kids Foundation, an organization dedicated to uplifting children and families through education, health, and countless acts of generosity.
Nick’s Kids Foundation has a long history of investing in young people—providing resources, building opportunities, and stepping in when families need help the most. Their work strengthens communities, creates brighter futures, and ensures that no child feels forgotten during the holidays.
Our chapter believes in carrying that same spirit forward. Throughout the year, we strive to serve, give, and support those around us… and December is our time to do even more. By partnering with Nick’s Kids Foundation, we can help extend their reach, support their holiday initiatives, and make a real difference for children right here in Alabama.
January 2026: Colonels for Mental Health
The Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama believe that true service means caring for both the visible and invisible needs of our communities. This January, our chapter is proud to dedicate our monthly fundraiser to Mental Health America (MHA) — an organization that has spent over a century fighting for mental wellness, early intervention, and access to care for all.
Mental health affects every family, every workplace, and every community. Anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional hardship do not discriminate, and too many people struggle in silence due to stigma or lack of resources. Mental Health America works to change that by promoting prevention, education, advocacy, and support — long before individuals reach a point of crisis.
Through education programs, screening tools, advocacy efforts, and community outreach, MHA helps individuals recognize the importance of mental wellness and find help when they need it most. Their work saves lives, strengthens families, and builds healthier communities.
As a chapter committed to service, we are using this fundraiser to support that mission. Every dollar raised through this campaign will help Mental Health America continue its vital work — ensuring that people have access to information, support, and hope.
We ask you to consider joining us in this effort. Whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser, you are helping to break the stigma surrounding mental health and reminding others that they are not alone.
Together, we can make a difference — not just in January, but all year long.
February 2026: Colonels for Children's of Alabama
This February, the Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama are proud to raise funds in support of Children’s of Alabama, one of the nation’s leading pediatric medical centers and a lifeline for countless families across our state and region.
Children’s of Alabama provides specialized care to children facing serious illness, injury, and complex medical needs—often during the most difficult moments of their lives. From critical care and life-saving treatments to ongoing support for families, their mission is rooted in compassion, excellence, and hope.
Every child deserves access to high-quality medical care, regardless of circumstance. The funds raised through this campaign will help support the hospital’s ongoing efforts to deliver world-class pediatric care, invest in advanced treatments, and provide comfort and resources to children and families when they need it most.
As Kentucky Colonels, service to our communities is at the heart of what we do. By coming together for this fundraiser, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and help ensure that Children’s of Alabama can continue its vital work.
Thank you for your generosity, your support, and for standing with us as we serve those who need it most.
March 2026: Colonels for March of Dimes
This March, The Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama is proud to support March of Dimes — an organization dedicated to improving the health of moms and babies.
Every year, families face the unexpected challenges of premature birth, pregnancy complications, and infant health concerns. March of Dimes works tirelessly to fund research, advocate for stronger maternal health policies, and provide education and support so that every baby has the healthiest possible start in life.
For our chapter, this mission isn’t just important — it’s personal.
We know what it feels like to sit in hospital rooms and hope for good news. We understand how much strong medical care, research, and family support matter during those moments. Organizations like March of Dimes help make that care possible — not just through hospitals, but through nationwide research and advocacy that saves lives before a crisis even begins.
Throughout the month of March, we are raising funds to support their mission of:
Fighting premature birth
Supporting maternal health
Funding life-saving research
Advocating for healthier pregnancies
Strengthening families nationwide
Our goal is simple: to help give more babies a healthy start and more families peace of mind.
If you’re able to give, thank you. Every dollar makes an impact. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser helps us reach someone who can.
Together, we can stand for stronger moms, healthier babies, and brighter futures.
Thank you for supporting our mission of service. 💙
April 2026: Colonels for Preventing Child Abuse
Each month, the Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama organizes a fundraiser to support organizations that are making a real difference in people’s lives. For the month of April, we are proud to support Prevent Child Abuse America.
Prevent Child Abuse America works to promote the healthy development of children and strengthen families so that every child can grow up in a safe, stable, and nurturing environment. Their work focuses on prevention, education, and community programs that help families before abuse or neglect ever occurs.
Child abuse prevention is something that requires the involvement of entire communities. By supporting organizations like Prevent Child Abuse America, we can help provide resources, education, and support systems that protect children and strengthen families.
Our goal with this fundraiser is to raise funds that will support the mission of Prevent Child Abuse America and help bring awareness to the importance of protecting children and supporting families.
Every donation—no matter the size—helps move this mission forward. If you are able, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser so that together we can help create a safer, healthier future for children.
Thank you for helping us make a difference.
May 2026: Colonels for Good Works
Our chapter, The Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama, is proud to dedicate our May fundraiser to supporting the mission of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels is one of the nation’s oldest and most respected charitable organizations. Through the Kentucky Colonels Good Works Program, millions of dollars in grants are distributed each year to nonprofits and organizations that are making a real difference in communities—supporting efforts such as food security, education, disaster relief, veterans services, and care for children and families.
As Kentucky Colonels ourselves, we believe this honor comes with a responsibility—not just to be recognized, but to serve. That is why our chapter works each month to support meaningful causes, and this month we are proud to give back directly to the organization that helps so many others.
Every donation made through this fundraiser will help support the Good Works Program and the charities it serves across Kentucky and beyond.
No donation is too small. Whether it’s $5, $10, or more, every contribution helps continue the mission of service and compassion that defines the Kentucky Colonels.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser helps us reach others who may be able to support.
Thank you for helping us continue the tradition of service and making a difference together.
June 2026: Colonels for Make A Wish
For our June fundraiser, the Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama is proud to support Make-A-Wish Alabama and the incredible work they do for children facing critical illnesses.
A wish is more than just a moment of happiness. For many children and families, it brings hope, strength, encouragement, and lasting memories during some of the most difficult times in their lives.
As a chapter, we believe service means helping bring hope to others wherever we can. That’s why we chose Make-A-Wish Alabama for this month’s fundraiser.
Throughout this year, our chapter has supported causes focused on mental health, children’s healthcare, maternal health, and community outreach. We are continuing that mission by helping support an organization that creates life-changing experiences for children and their families.
Every donation—big or small—helps make a difference. And if you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser helps us reach others who may be able to help.
Thank you for supporting our mission of service and helping us bring hope to children across Alabama.
July 2026: Colonels for Heroes
For our July fundraiser, the Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama is proud to support the Gary Sinise Foundation and its mission to serve our nation's defenders, veterans, first responders, and their families.
Founded by actor and humanitarian Gary Sinise, the foundation is dedicated to honoring those who sacrifice so much for our country and communities. Through programs that support wounded veterans, military families, first responders, and those facing unique challenges after service, the foundation continues to make a lasting impact across the nation.
As a chapter, we believe service is at the heart of what it means to be a Kentucky Colonel. This month, we are honored to support an organization that embodies that same spirit of service, gratitude, and commitment to others.
Throughout the year, our chapter has worked to support causes that strengthen individuals, families, and communities. By supporting the Gary Sinise Foundation, we have an opportunity to help those who have dedicated their lives to protecting and serving others.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps support programs that provide assistance, resources, and hope to veterans, active-duty military personnel, first responders, and their loved ones.
If you are unable to donate, we encourage you to share this fundraiser and help us spread awareness.
Thank you for helping us honor those who serve and for supporting our mission of service throughout Northwest Alabama and beyond.

August 2026: Colonels for Best Buddies
This August, the Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama is proud to support Best Buddies International, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Best Buddies believes everyone deserves friendship, inclusion, leadership opportunities, meaningful employment, and the chance to live a fulfilling life.
For many individuals with disabilities, something as simple as having a friend, finding a job, or participating in their community can be life-changing. Best Buddies works every day to make those opportunities possible.
Our chapter believes that service means lifting others up and strengthening our communities. By supporting Best Buddies, we're helping create a world where everyone is valued, included, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Every dollar donated through this fundraiser helps support programs that foster friendship, leadership, employment, and inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Together, we can help build a more compassionate and inclusive future.
Thank you for supporting the Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama as we continue our mission of Honor • Service • Community.
September 2026: Never Forget — Supporting Tunnel to Towers
On September 11, 2026, our nation will mark the 25th anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001.
Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the innocent lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who answered the call when their country needed them most.
First responders ran toward danger.
Ordinary people helped strangers.
Americans came together.
The courage and sacrifice shown that day will never be forgotten.
This September, the Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama is dedicating our monthly fundraiser to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation was created to honor the sacrifice of FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller, who gave his life on September 11, 2001. Today, the Foundation continues to support catastrophically injured veterans and first responders, Gold Star families, families of fallen first responders, and veterans facing homelessness.
As we mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we believe one of the best ways we can honor those who sacrificed is through continued service to others.
Our chapter was founded on a simple belief:
Recognition should lead to action.
Throughout September, we invite our community to join us in remembering the heroes of September 11 while supporting those who continue to serve and sacrifice for our country today.
No donation is too small.
Every dollar represents someone choosing to remember.
Someone choosing to honor.
Someone choosing to serve.
Together, we can turn remembrance into action.
NEVER FORGET
25 Years of Service & Sacrifice
Thank you for supporting the Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

October 2026: Hope Against ALS
This October, the Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama are proud to dedicate our monthly fundraiser to I AM ALS.
ALS affects far more than the person who receives the diagnosis. It affects spouses, children, parents, caregivers, friends, and entire families.
I AM ALS is a patient-led community that provides support and resources to people living with ALS, caregivers, and loved ones. The organization also works to empower people affected by ALS to raise awareness, advocate for change, and accelerate the search for cures.
For our chapter, supporting causes like this is what being a Kentucky Colonel is about.
Our chapter was created with a simple belief:
Honor should lead to service.
Each month, we choose a different organization or cause to support through fundraising and community outreach. We may be a small chapter, but we believe small acts of service can add up to something meaningful.
ALS is a devastating disease that can change a person's life and their family's life in ways that are difficult to imagine. That's why we're using our October fundraiser to help support an organization working directly with the ALS community while advocating for greater awareness, support, and ultimately a cure.
We invite our friends, family, fellow Kentucky Colonels, and members of our community to join us.
You don't have to make a large donation.
$5 matters.
$10 matters.
Sharing this fundraiser matters.
Every contribution gives us another opportunity to turn recognition into action.
If you are able to donate, thank you.
If you're able to share this fundraiser with someone else, thank you.
And if ALS has touched your family or someone you love, please know that we're honored to dedicate our October fundraiser to this cause.
Together, we can support the people and families affected by ALS and help keep the fight for a cure moving forward.
HONOR • SERVICE • COMMUNITY
Thank you for supporting the Kentucky Colonels of Northwest Alabama and our October fundraiser for I AM ALS.
