Render Security Engineering is both a cybersecurity and drone company that works to develop various tools for the United States military. During my time at Render I have been a part of the drone side of the company where I have developed several skills surrounding drone platform development. I have gotten the chance to work on several different platforms of varrying style and make meaningful contributions to the overall projects the team has.
Assembled a 3D printed drone platform from start to finish (All the wiring, mechanical, and programming)
Used Fusion 360 CADD software for various CADD and mounting tasks
Developed wire harnesses for drone platform deployment
Diagnosed custom 3D printers
Fixed custom 3D printer systems and software
Inspected drone platforms for errors in assembly
Reviewed and revised strategies for testing documentation and implication
Designed landing gear structures for several drone platforms
Learned detailed, high-precision solder work
Learned about electromagnetic interference
Tested components for verification of function
Took detailed measurements of wire construction
Inspected assembled wire harnesses
Attended flight tests for several drone systems, documenting data on flight performance
Used industry-standard software for drone parameter modification (Mission Planner and ArduPilot)
This is an image of the wiring harness that I put together for the 3D printed drone I completely built up.
This is me working on the drone the day we took it out to test it. In this image, I was performing the pre-flight checklist and preparing to power up the aircraft before the flight.
