With 24 years of experience as a school counselor, one of the most rewarding aspects of my role has been working alongside high school students to help them unlock their full potential. Together, we create personalized roadmaps that align with each student’s unique interests, strengths, and goals. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with over a thousand students with diverse needs, assisting them in finding the right post-secondary path and an environment that allows them to thrive!
As a parent of two teenagers— a college freshman and a high school sophomore—I bring a unique perspective to my work. I understand firsthand the emotional, logistical, and financial challenges families face during the college search and decision-making process. Balancing the role of a counselor and a parent allows me to empathize deeply with students and their families, while providing practical guidance tailored to their specific needs.
To stay informed in this ever-evolving process, I prioritize attending College Board conferences, engaging with admissions representatives, touring campuses, and staying connected with leaders in this field, through podcasts, webinars, and blogs. This ongoing professional development ensures I can offer the most up-to-date advice. Throughout my career, I have developed specialized expertise in assisting students with disabilities and athletes in finding schools that align with their academic, personal, and athletic aspirations. I also support students in exploring a wide range of career pathways and post-secondary options.
After years of helping students navigate the college search process, I’m excited to transition into the role of a College Coach. I look forward to working with families to help them navigate the college search and application process. My goal is to equip families with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to make informed decisions and find the best fit for their student’s future.
