My desire to become a College Coach stems from my passion for helping families navigate the college search and application process. I see my role as a guide, providing knowledge, resources, and tools to help families enjoy this exciting journey of exploration. My hope is coach students in developing essential college readiness skills, such as meeting deadlines, composing professional emails, developing organization skills, creating timelines, and breaking down the college application process into manageable steps. I can provide an overview of the process and help students find schools that are a good fit both, academically and socially. I believe in the importance of building a balanced college list of 8-10 schools.
My mission is to coach you through the process and help you enjoy the journey. As a high school counselor, I understand that each area high school has their own internal processes and hope to be an extra support beyond your child’s school counselor. I bring a perspective as a high school counselor and through the lens of a parent going through the same process with my own children. I view the role of parents as co-pilots—helping guide and support their children as they drive the search and decision-making process. This should be one of the most exciting milestones in a student’s academic career, marking the culmination of years of hard work and growth.
I firmly believe that students can be happy at many different schools. Sometimes, what starts as a “dream school” evolves as students explore more options. I encourage students to remain open-minded, exploring a wide range of possibilities and considering their strengths, weaknesses, interests, and passions to create their own personalized roadmap for the future.
