1. Who is the college readiness program designed for? Our college readiness program is designed for high school students who are preparing for the college application process. It is suitable for students in grades 11 and 12. Our program is also designed for high school students who are preparing for their gap year or are currently in their gap year. This program can also serve as a refresher for those students that need it.
2. What topics are covered in the college readiness program? The program covers a range of topics including college selection, application strategies, essay writing, financial aid, scholarships, interviews, and overall college preparation.
3. How is the program structured? The program is structured into workshops that cover specific topics such as college applications, personal statement writing, financial aid, and executive functioning skill building. Each workshop includes interactive activities, discussions, and personalized feedback.
4. How long is each workshop? Each workshop typically lasts between 2-4 hrs, depending on the topic and activities planned.
5. What are the qualifications of the instructors? Our instructors are experienced professionals in the field of education and college counseling. They have expertise in college admissions, financial aid, and supporting students through the college application process. Dr. Greene holds a Ph.D. in School Psychology from Howard University and has twelve years experience as a college counselor for TRIO Programs in New York State and Washington, D.C.
6. Is the program offered online or in-person? Currently, our program is offered online (virtual). We provide flexibility to accommodate different learning preferences and schedules. We have a modified small class experience if you prefer.
7. How do I register for the program? To register for the program, complete the registration form. You will receive confirmation and further details upon receipt of your registration and payment.
8. Are scholarships available for the program?We understand the financial commitment of preparing for college. While scholarships for the program itself may not be available, we provide payment plans to assist.
9. What should I bring to the workshops? Participants should bring a laptop or notebook for taking notes and completing assignments. Specific materials or resources needed for each workshop will be communicated in advance.
10. What is your cancellation policy? - Our cancellation policy states that payments are non-refundable except in cases where the program is canceled by the organizer. Makeup sessions will be provided at the discretion of the organizer.
11. How will I know if there are updates or changes to the program schedule? - Participants will be notified of any updates or changes to the program schedule via email. It is important to check your email regularly for updates and announcements.
