Needs

SunHelm has several needs systems designed to provide an immersive experience.

Each need progresses in a series of 6 stages. Each has its appropriate buffs or de-buffs.

Each need can be reduced by certain actions. (ie. Sleeping reduces exhaustion, Eating reduces hunger, etc.)

As of 3.0.0, all need's effects have been reworked to provide better balance and align more closely with SimonRim.

About the tables:
Time to reach is calculated as the amount of time to reach the stage from being fully restored using the default rates. Each need has about a 10% degree of randomness to them, so the time estimate in each table is the middle ground. It could be a little more, or less time.

Hunger

All food will be classified as one of the following:


  • Light

  • Medium

  • Heavy

  • Soup (will restore hunger and thirst)

Heavy foods obviously restoring the most hunger, while light foods restore the least.


All mods that add food are compatible through either direct support, keyword patches, or through the ability to categorize unrecognized foods when you eat them.

Thirst

  • Thirst can be restored by drinking water. Empty bottles can be refilled at any body of water.

  • Drinking bottles of alcohol will give you back an empty bottle that you can refill.

  • If you refill your bottles with ocean water, you will receive salt water.

  • Saltwater can be "distilled" into fresh water at any campfire.

  • Animations will play when filling bottles if enabled.

Water has also been added to innkeepers to sell. They should almost always have a stock of water to sell. You can also ask them to refill water (10 Gold), or to serve you a full meal (20 Gold).

Exhaustion

Sleeping in a bed will restore your exhaustion. Sleeping in a bedroll will restore 25% less of your fatigue than sleeping in a normal bed.
