CO2 CNC Lasers work by bouncing light emissions back and forth between mirrors on an XYZ axis until the beam passes through a special lens at the tip of the router head. Types of cutting material can range from thin plywood, acrylic and cardboard.
First Cut
For the first cut we took an image off the internet and pasted it onto V-carve. Then we converted the image into a cam and put it on the lazer. For my cut I made the mascot for the frc team, 836 The Robobees.
Second Cut
For the second cut, we made a creation of our choice. For my project, I decided to make a tic tac toe board. I split it into two different solidworks parts but all the parts were cut at the same time. I used 1/8" wood and glued the bottom board to the dividers then I was finished.
MakerCase Box
For the final object, we used a website named MakerCase and we then turned it into a cam using both RDWorks V8 and Vcarve. Then I cut it on the lazer out of cardboard and assembled it with tape and glue.
