About Us

Coker Kennels is our home, in southeast Michigan, where we are raising our pack. Our pack includes four kids, one cat, one hamster, several fish and two sweet and lovable Labs. With the October 2019 litter being our first, we are new in the breeding business. We are however striving to produce physically sound, intelligent, and well natured Labrador Retrievers.

We are a family of hunters, obviously ;). Labs have always been a part of our families growing up and a Lab was definitely going to be a part of our kids lives. We were looking for a hunting dog when we brought Kara home. In the fall of 2018 Kara was in training to learn how to hunt. 

We chose a Lab because they are great bird dogs, they are very trainable, very affectionate and all around great companions. 

Our puppies are handled by our children daily to help promote socialization. They are also trained with the biosensor method to help control stress responses, which will make them even more trainable.
