All of the research in the CP lab utilizes psychophysiological measures, primarily focused on electroencephalography, i.e. measuring "brainwaves". The CP lab has collaborated with a wide array of researchers from a variety of disciplines not only at San Francisco State University, but across the globe. The studies conducted in the lab originate from students’ own ideas. Current areas of research include involuntary audio imagery, ambiguous image processing, alertness modulation, dyslexia, unconscious salience. Past projects include stereotypes and social categorization, music and emotion, spatial memory, basic figure perception, psychopharmacology, auditory language processing, emotion in social contexts, decision making, and spontaneous thought.
