CoffeeLog is a coffee bag scanner and brew journal for personal use. All your data stays on your device or in your own iCloud account. CoffeeLog does not collect, transmit, or share your data with any third party. There are no analytics, no advertising, and no user accounts.
CoffeeLog stores the following data locally on your device:
• Coffee entries — name, roaster, origin, region, process, varietal, altitude, roast date, harvest, weight, roast level, flavor notes, brew tips, and SCA score
• Coffee bag photos — photographs you take or select from your photo library
• Brew sessions — brew method, date, coffee and water amounts, grind size, temperature, brew time, rating, and personal notes
• OCR scan results — text extracted from coffee bags during scanning
• Your name, email address, or any account credentials
• Location data
• Device identifiers
• Usage statistics or analytics
• Crash reports
All data you enter is used exclusively to display your coffee journal and brew history within the app. It is never used for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.
All data is stored in a local database and local file system on your iPhone. Data is not accessible to other apps.
If you enable iCloud sync within the app, your coffee entries, brew sessions, and photos are uploaded to your own iCloud account. This data is governed by Apple's iCloud Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. CoffeeLog's developer has no access to your iCloud data. iCloud sync is optional — the app is fully functional without it.
When you scan a coffee bag, CoffeeLog uses on-device text recognition to extract information from the label. On iPhone, this uses Apple Vision, which runs entirely on your device. No image or text is sent to any external server during this process.
CoffeeLog requests access to your camera and photo library solely to let you photograph coffee bags. Photos are stored locally on your device or in your own iCloud. They are never transmitted to CoffeeLog's developer or any third party.
CoffeeLog does not use analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, advertising networks, or remote databases. The only external system involved is your own iCloud account, if you choose to enable sync.
Your data is retained as long as you keep the app installed. You can delete individual entries or photos at any time from within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. To remove data from iCloud, delete the app's iCloud Drive container in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
CoffeeLog is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted with a revised effective date.
