Cryptographic coding usually encrypts or changes the data pre-transmission so it's unintelligible except for those who have the decryption algorithm or "key". Cryptocoding is exactly what it sounds like! Crypto means "hidden" or "secret" and coding means writing computer programming. Cryptographers, then, are tasked with creating codes to safeguard information and data, such as financial information for banks. There are three main types of cryptographic coding.
