Our team comprises of professional educators are experts in teaching Computer Science, Math and STEAM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math).
Coding Academy Geneva developed a step-by-step curriculum and a smooth, step-by step and entertaining learning path for kids as early as 4 years old to acquire logical reasoning skills in a digital playful environment.
From our years-long successful experience of teaching kids digital skills from early age we could confidently state that the notion of 'too early' doesn't apply to the kids. They are not only ready to learn logical thinking, operate digital devices and investigate elements of coding but are very interested and eager to do so.
We do not discriminate students by age and will accept any child who is interested in digital world and capable to follow our programs.
LEARNING PATHS
Block-based coding on tablets with the following languages : Scratch, Micro:Bit
Transition to text-based coding on laptops/computers by learning Python3, JavaScript
Computers. We recommend to use laptops or desktops, WIndows or Mac OS for children both at Beginner elementary block-based coding and at a more advanced level. Keyboards on laptops/desktops are a must at advanced classes for Python/JavaScript.
Tablets (iPads). We do not support or recommed tablets to be used for online classes. These devices, however, could be used at home for the youngest ones to practice their block-based coding with Scratch from as early as 4+ since tablets help to develop initial motor skills to manage digital devices and to learn the basics of managing a digital device and that of block-coding.
Mobiles: We do not recommend to use mobile phones for our classes and could not provide support for these devices or trouble-shooting during the class.
Reliable wi-fi connection
Quiet place with a dedicated desk to follow the class
Initial parents' help to start video-conference, to be able to share and split a computer screen during the online class, manage microphone (mute/unmute) and camera (on/off) of child's device.
Software: Beginner/Intermediate Animation and Coding Classes. Before the class, please sign up for a free Scratch account. To enable your child to save his work and continue working on it during subsequent classes, please open an account at http://scratch.mit.edu
