Prior to joining our Tech Programs, we recommend reviewing the following mindsets and FAQ— along with the typical learning journey shared on the home page. Learning to code takes time and the right mindset! It's not an overnight transformation, it's a long-term investment in your skills.
No, learning to code is often a multi-year journey. Or introductory, part-time courses are not typically enough to prepare you for your first role. But it is the right first step! Code Tenderloin then partners with organizations to make sure learners have an accessible next step for their deeper training. Though every person's pathway is of course a little bit different, this is the journey typically required for entry-level technical positions.
Most folks use these courses as a stepping stone to a full-stack coding bootcamp or equivalent study. Code Tenderloin's courses will help you understand if you even enjoy this potential career path, and our courses will prepare you for the admissions requirements for such further study programs.
For some classes, yes, but for others no. For instance, our Code Ramp class is not project-based but rather focuses on getting you familiar with the building blocks of programming. Code Ramp++ and Intro to Data Analytics do have a project component that you could continue building out as a portfolio piece.
Not a problem, you are always welcome to join our classes when the timing is right for you. Just let us know when you want to rejoin! Check out the Technical Programs tab to see upcoming dates.
