I like to ask questions about everything.
I live in Corvallis, Oregon. I spent many years working as a calibration technician for a company that manufactures research equipment, until the Oregon site closed. I am working to start a new career in financial areas like bookkeeping and tax. I've taken classes about Non-Violent Communication based on the work of Marshall Rosenberg. I am a member of Congregational United Church of Christ.
The history of ways that I've volunteered:
First, I volunteered as an advocate, promoting vegan eating and telling new vegans how to get nutrients like Vitamin B12. While advocating, I actually loved having conversations with people who disagreed with me about some issues, including many people who did not think well of veganism.
So now I've switched from volunteering for advocacy, to volunteering for dialogue. I've hosted online Living Room Conversations, which bring together people with different views on issues to have conversations using these 6 conversation agreements. Most recently, I've joined another nationwide organization, Braver Angels, which also brings together people with different views to have friendly discussions. I've occasionally taken dialogue facilitation workshops from the organization Essential Partners.
I enjoy playing the viola, singing, dancing, and hiking.
