The Artist - Cheryl A Devitt
Cheryl Devitt is a local artist that specializes in coastal art using crushed glass, resin, vitrigraph glass and local seashells that are hand-picked by Cheryl and her husband, Michael.
She began creating her pieces after retiring as a Physician Assistant working in Pittsburgh, PA.
She was inspired by the ocean, its inhabitants, and surrounding beauty. Her subjects include waves, mermaids, seahorses, turtles, palm trees, cranes, great egrets, flamingoes, and sandpipers to name a few. She also has done custom pieces for clients, including a local business.
Michael repurposes her frames from local estate sales and thrift stores.
You can find her and Michael at local Markets at Corey Avenue, St. Pete Beach, Dunedin, Treasure Island’s Sanding Ovations, and down the gulf coast including Punta Gorda, Sarasota and Marco Island, Florida. Her scheduled is published on Instagram, Facebook and their website.
Catches Waterfront Restaurant in Port Richey also displays her art, which you can purchase there.
Cheryl also teaches her craft locally, and in communities such as Tarpon Springs, Sarasota, Orlando, and Treasure Lake in Pennsylvania. If your community is interested in hosting a class, contact us at CCreations123@yahoo.com.
