Hello! My name is Coach Gary, and I am excited to be your social studies teacher this year. Here’s a little bit about me:
Personal Background
I live in a community near our school with my wife and our two children. We have enjoyed living in Texas for the past decade.
Educational Background
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Management and am currently pursuing a Graduate degree in Organizational Leadership online from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Professional Experience
The 2024/25 school year will be my first year teaching in a classroom. Previously, I was a Managing Partner at a real estate firm and an Operations Manager for a community non-profit. Teaching and guiding young people has always been a passion of mine, and I have over 10 years of experience coaching youth sports.
Teaching Philosophy
I believe that learning is a collaborative process that thrives in an environment of mutual respect and curiosity. In my classroom, every student is encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and engage with the material in meaningful ways. I strive to make my class come alive through interactive lessons, hands-on projects, and discussions that connect the past to the present.
Personal Interests
When I’m not in the classroom, you might find me at a youth football or basketball game. I am a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a devoted Bucks, Brewers, and Packers fan. I enjoy home DIY projects, so if you see me in Home Depot, say hello! I love reading, music, hunting, and playing chess. I enjoy bringing my personal interests into the classroom to make learning more relatable and fun for my students.
I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to make this school year fantastic. Let’s make history in more ways than one!
