I'm Char, a former competitive gymnast and cheerleader turned world champion powerlifter with 8x British Records to my name.
I absolutely loved sport growing up so naturally fell into coaching in my teens and have continued to help people of all ages and abilities for 15 years now!
I coach online worldwide or in person at Maverick Strength Gym, Welwyn Garden City.

This also includes a monthly plan to keep you on track outside of our sessions.

This approach combines the flexibility of remote coaching with the hands-on guidance of face-to-face training, ensuring accountability, progress, and real-time feedback.
If you’re a powerlifter looking to dominate on the platform, or you’re wanting to become one but not sure where to start, this service offers tailored programming to optimise your strength and performance. With comp prep and meet day handling included, I’ll be there to provide coaching and support, ensuring you peak at the right time and perform at your best on the day.
Age-appropriate strength and conditioning sessions for young athletes. Build coordination, body awareness, confidence, and resilience whilst developing their performance whatever their chosen sport may be. Learn proper lifting technique, achieve strength milestones and let off some steam in a safe, supportive environment.
For those who prefer to train independently and at their own pace but still need some structure. You’ll receive a detailed workout programme designed to help you make consistent progress, without ongoing check-ins or coaching.
