About me
Mike Bird (MBA MA BA Cmgr fcmi mac)
My name is Mike and I have been coaching for almost 15 years since passing an advanced Diploma in Leadership and Performance Coaching from Northumbria University in 2010. Since then I have delivered over 300 hours of formal one to one coaching as part of my wider corporate contributions to supporting colleagues in both my employing organisations and other organisations. I am proud to be a full member of the Association for Coaching.
In my 24 years of professional work experience I have been employed in local and central government. During this time my substantive roles were in democratic services administration, project management and HR / learning and development.
I am also experienced in event management, complaint management, facilitating workshops, delivering presentations to colleagues and the public and schools, and training colleagues. I am also an experienced Business Ambassador and helped run work related activities in schools.
I have been a people leader/manager for 18 years and also mentored a range of colleagues. I am a chartered fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
In addition to my coaching qualification, I have
Degrees and apprenticeships: MBA in Strategic Leadership, Level 7 Senior Leader apprenticeship, MA in International Studies and BA (Hons) in Politics
Project management: Project Leadership Programme, APM Project Management Qualification, APM Project Fundamentals, APM Better Business Cases (Foundation and Practitioner levels) and Prince 2 (Foundation)
Leadership: North East Excellent Managers' Programme, and ILM Level 5 in Leadership and Management.
I feel that I demonstrate a growth mindset by continually learning as much as I can!
Outside of work my passions are my family, friends, music, running, reading, travel. My voluntary work included chairing my children’s after school club committee and raising money for a range of charities through seeking sponsorship for running 50 half marathons to date.
