The SUNY ESF campus map can be viewed here.
Driving and Parking: The meeting will be held in the Gateway Center on the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) campus (1 Forestry Drive, Syracuse, NY 13210). To help minimize traffic and parking congestion on campus, attendees traveling from within the Syracuse area are encouraged to use public transportation, walk, bike, or arrange to be dropped off whenever possible. Attendees traveling from outside the Syracuse area who plan to drive are encouraged to carpool.
Free parking is available in Lot P-22 (as shown on the linked map above). These include about 70 regular spaces, as well as additional EV and handicap spots. Since this is a regular workday, spots may start to fill up closer to 9am. Additional parkings spots are available in nearby paid parking decks: the University Avenue Garage and Irving Avenue Garage.
By Bus: Several Centro bus routes serve the Syracuse University/SUNY ESF campus. The most convenient stops for accessing the Gateway Center are:
College Place – Approximately a 10-minute walk to the Gateway Center. This is the primary stop for many Centro routes serving University Hill and provides convenient connections to downtown Syracuse and the Regional Transportation Center.
Barnes Center at the Arch – Approximately a 5-minute walk to the Gateway Center. Several Centro routes stop adjacent to the Barnes Center along Sims Drive.
By Bike: Bicycle racks are available directly across from the Gateway Center in front of Jahn Laboratory, with additional bike racks located throughout the SUNY ESF campus.
After the meeting, a casual happy hour will be held at Harvey's Garden (1200 East Water Street in Syracuse). Food and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are available for purchase at your own expense. Harvey's Garden has extensive seating space both outside on their patio and inside in their two-story building.
The meeting will be held at Gateway Center on the SUNY ESF campus.
Because local branches receive only limited financial support from ASM, membership and registration fees are important for covering meeting expenses, including food and student poster awards.
However, we do not want cost to prevent students from participating, so up to 20 first-come, first-served fee waivers are available for undergraduate and graduate students who are unable to afford branch membership ($10), which includes free meeting registration, or the non-member registration fee ($30). To request a waiver, email Jennifer Goff at jegoff*at*esf.edu with a brief explanation of your circumstances.
If you are coming from a further distance, or just want to spend your weekend in Syracuse, hotels nearby campus (less than a 30-minute walk) include: Marriott Syracuse Downtown, Hotel Skyler Syracuse, Colleagian Hotel and Suites, and the Parkview Hotel.
