Held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the gathering was more than just a meet-up; it was a dynamic platform that allowed students to engage with, and learn about, the 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹.
Casihag: Taketalk served as a crucial touchpoint for the students of CNU, highlighting the council's commitment to openness and forward-thinking. The event effectively showcased a series of presentations detailing the accomplishments and upcoming initiatives of CNU-CLASS. This included a comprehensive look back at past successful events and a discussion on new strategies aimed at enhancing student life and educational experiences at the university.
One of the core elements of the event was the insightful discourse on the state and responsibilities of the CNU-CLASS council. It provided a reflective analysis of the council's effectiveness in meeting the needs of its constituents. This segment was crucial for fostering a deeper understanding among students about how their representatives are working towards creating a more conducive learning environment. Adding a light-hearted yet engaging touch to the event were the creative icebreakers that punctuated the evening, designed to stimulate interaction and enjoyment among attendees. These activities not only served as a breather between the intense discussions but also helped in building a stronger community feel among the students. A significant highlight of the evening was the official announcement regarding the structural change within the College of Culture, Arts and Sports (CCAS). The CAS has now evolved into three distinct entities: the College of (CCAS), the College of Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Sciences (CCAIS), and the College of Law, Public Governance and Safety (CLPGS). This reorganization aims to tailor the educational focus more closely to the specific needs and disciplines of its students, a move applauded for its vision to enhance academic and creative pursuits.
Casihag: Taketalk was not just an ordinary student council report; it was a declaration of a progressive, transparent, and student-focused future. Through this event, CNU-CLASS has set a high standard for student governance, emphasizing the importance of accountability, creativity, and detailed planning. As Cebu Normal University continues to foster environments where student leadership and participation are pivotal to communal growth, events like Casihag: Taketalk are fundamental. They not only inform and entertain but also invigorate the student body to participate actively in their education journey, making them true stakeholders in their collective future. The success of this event has undoubtedly paved the way for more innovative and engaging gatherings in the academic years to come.

In a kaleidoscope of colors and cheers, the College of Law, Public Governance, and Safety (CLPGS) at Cebu Normal University (CNU) launched their much-anticipated CLPGS Day with a surge of enthusiasm and togetherness. With meticulous planning and coordination by the Council of Liberal Arts and Science Students, the CLPGS day metamorphosed into a vibrant arena pulsating with excitement and competitive fervor. Under the sunny skies on February 28, 2024, students, faculty, and guests converged at the CNU Centennial stage, where the air was electric with anticipation. Hosts extraordinaire, Francis S. Camay and the esteemed CLASS Governor Joenalisa Rosaroso, set the stage for a day of celebrations that would highlight not just academic excellence but also the tenacious spirit of harmony and competition that distinguishes CLPGS.
The heart of the event lay in the spirited competition among the four teams representing CLPGS: Club Agua in Blue, Diamond Castle in Green, Purple Spectacle in Purple, and Aces of Spades in Pink. Each team, a bastion of talent and dedication, brought their unique flair to the day's proceedings. As the representatives of these exceptional groups took the stage, the ground appeared to tremble under the weight of their combined excitement. The Wacky Debate competition, similar to a battle of wits in a card game, saw members from the four teams engaged in witty wordplay and heated arguments, while the College Feud tested their knowledge and team chemistry in a fight of intelligence and strategy. Amidst the laughter and cheers, participants competed in a series of games in the Centennial Stage, from Animal Movements and Count-it Relay to the parlor games Longest Line, Balloon Pop, and Planting Rice each event highlighting the diversity and spirit of CLPGS. Culmination: One Ace, Three Hearts
College Days 2024 was something foreign to the ears of the liberals, marking a celebration of independence and unity, the ascendance of three colleges. Three consecutive Wednesdays were designated for each college, culminating on March 6, 2024, when liberals from all three colleges convened to celebrate and unleash their inner child. This event wasn't solely about revealing the strongest deck but also about honoring the individuality of liberals.
The surprise for liberals began during registration in the afternoon, where the first ( ) received a complimentary treat from the invited food cart. Various activities ensued, including the renowned college feud, creative parlor games, spirited debates showcasing wit, and a challenging scavenger hunt. Yet, the festivities were far from over; they were just beginning. The competition continued with a boodle fight, tasking each of the three colleges with designing their own spread. Afterwards, all liberals shared in the feast they had prepared, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.
The iconic "pabitin," a nostalgic symbol of childhood, took center stage, but with a creative twist. Instead of candies or toys, it featured an adult edition, reflecting the needs of college students living far from home in dorms or boarding houses. The items adorning the pabitin were carefully selected essentials, including soap, canned goods, oral hygiene products, and shower necessities. What a delightful surprise, indeed!
The bunch of activities concluded with the trademark ice cream party of CLASS, yes, ice cream for everyone! Liberals flocked and fell in line for their share of ice cream, it was a sight to behold because it signifies that no matter how much we age, no one can say no to ice cream, it is indeed timeless. This portion of the event was the most awaited by everyone.
As the sun kissed the horizon, bidding farewell and making way for the starry night, the Liberal’s Night and Awarding Ceremony began. Various decks vied for the coveted spot of the Ace, yet amid the excellence displayed by the College of Culture, Arts, and Sports (CCAS), the College of Law, Public Governance and Safety (CLPGS), and the College of Computing, Artificial Intelligences and Sciences (CCAIS), only one emerged victorious—the College of Law, Public Governance and Safety (CLPGS).
While only one could claim the title of Ace, the participating colleges remained the beating heart of the event, representing the essence of the CLASS. Liberals stood as the core, the reason for existence, and the pursuit of excellence. Although only one college secured the Ace award, every participant emerged as a victor.

As the day progressed, the spirit of inclusivity and camaraderie took center stage at the CNU basketball court with the "Queer Basketball" event of "LiberaLiga." Students under CLASS showcased their athletic prowess and competitive spirit, bound only by the rule to enjoy the sport without illegal physical contact. The thrilling tournament culminated in a closely contested match between BiotSoc and the team CLASS et al, with BiotSoc and its members Jeanne Rian Dialimas (BS Bio - Environmental Biology IV), Kian Nuñez (BS Bio - Environmental Biology IV), Niña Mae Sanchez (BS Bio - Environmental Biology IV), James Canque (BS Bio - Zoology III), Reymark Angel (BS Bio - Zoology IV), Jermaine Theus Cahayagan (Bachelor of Science in Chemistry III), Phil Janford (BS Bio - Zoology IV), and Pocholo Joaquin Bacunador (BS Bio - Zoology IV) emerging victorious and claiming the coveted Php 1,000 cash prize.
However, the highlight of EQUALIday was undoubtedly the "LiberaLip-sync Smackdown" held at the Idea and Knowledge Center (IKC) stage. Angelena Batucan takes the helm as the commanding host of this electrifying Lip Sync Battle. Seated at the judges' table are the fabulous panel of Kint Villarta, Kat Phischeur, and Joshua Abella. Four contenders, each embracing their drag personas, mesmerized the audience with their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent. From the captivating entrances to the flawless lip-sync performances, the stage was set on fire with elegance and extravagance. The showdown began with Jasper Clark Lariosa, also known as Cebuana Gorgeous, facing off against Christian Loyd Arupe, aka Maharlika, in a thrilling rendition of "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" by Celine Dion. Maharlika's excitement and entertaining dancing skills attracted the audience, allowing him to'shantay' into the next round.
The competition intensified as Nathaniel Franz Al Mansinadez, aka Parizz Franzt, triumphed over Christian James Manlegro, known as Ma. Dinah Verr Jhayne, with a soul-stirring performance of "So Emotional" by Whitney Houston. Despite Dinah's amusing performance, Parizz's powerful approach helped him proceed. Cebuana Gorgeous produced a spirited comeback, forcing Dinah to “sashay away” in the third round. Kat Phischeur, a local drag queen from the House of Renaissance Cebu and one of the event's judges, mesmerized the audience with her rendition of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" by Jennifer Holliday in the intermission number.
The climax of the evening came with a showdown between Maharlika and Parizz, who dazzled the audience with their eleganza extravaganza lip-sync battle to the tune of "Hallucinate" by Dua Lipa. While Maharlika maintained his comedic charm, Parizz stole the spotlight with extravagant moves, including a breathtaking death drop that left the audience in awe. In the end, Parizz emerged victorious, claiming the title of the drag lip-sync smackdown and leaving the audience spellbound by his performance. Reflecting on his win, Parizz shared that it was his first drag contest, underscoring the inclusive and empowering spirit of EQUALIday.
EQUALIday at CNU was not just an event but a celebration of diversity, empowerment, and the unyielding spirit of the LGBTQIA+ community. As the curtains closed on this groundbreaking occasion, they left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of all who attended, reaffirming the university's commitment to equality, acceptance, and inclusion.

In 2024, Cebu Normal University celebrated the graduation rites of its three newly established colleges for the first time: the College of Culture, Arts, and Sports; the College of Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Sciences; and the College of Law, Public Governance, and Safety. The students from these colleges marked the end of their college journey and welcomed the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. This commencement exercise was the fruit of their four hardworking years in college, a day meant to celebrate their academic achievements and growth. It was also a time to reminisce about every moment they had at the beloved university, from their days as visionary and motivated freshmen to their journey's end as strong, bold, and wise seniors.
The College of Law, Public Governance, and Safety (CLPGS) held its graduation rites on May 27, 2024, at the International Eucharistic Congress (IEC) Pavilion in Barangay Luz, Cebu City. With the theme “Embracing the Journey: Celebrating Growth, Resilience, and Achievement,” 296 undergraduate and 22 graduate students were presented. For the college's first commencement exercise, they welcomed Atty. Jose Glenn Capanas, Dean of the University of San Carlos (USC) School of Law, as their respected speaker. He spoke about the importance of upholding integrity in any field of service, a message and lesson that graduates can carry with them as they venture into the world. The distribution of diplomas was led by the Vice President for Administration, Finance, and External Affairs, Dr. Joseph Elvir Ttubilan. Additionally, 272 Latin honor awardees were recognized. The remaining two colleges celebrated their graduation on the same day and at the same venue, June 3, 2024, at the International Eucharistic Congress (IEC) Pavilion, but at different times. The entire morning was dedicated to the graduates of the College of Culture, Arts, and Sports, while the afternoon was reserved for the graduates of the College of Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Sciences.
The Commencement Exercise for College of Culture, Arts, and Sports (CCAS) presented 144 Undergraduate studies, nine from the Masters programs, and six from the Doctorate programs. After the presentation of graduates, the imposition of hoods was led by Dr. Álex Tiempo, CCAS Dean, then the commencement speaker was welcome for his speech, Atty. Ruphil Banoc, Station Manager of DYHP-RMN. The commencement speaker, Atty. Ruphil Banoc, Station Manager of DYHP-RMN, was then welcomed for his speech. Atty. Afterward, the graduates received their diplomas, and those with honors were recognized. The College of Culture, Arts, and Sports proudly acknowledged three Summa Cum Laudes, 69 Magna Cum Laudes, and 58 Cum Laudes.
The College of Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Sciences presented 83 graduates.
