Involved in the maintenance of extensor tone (antigravity muscles) Axial (especially the neck muscles) limb muscles
Fibers from medial pons travel ipsilaterally in the medial anterior funiculus near the MLF and go to the entire length of the cord to laminas VII and VIII.
Fibers are not somatotopic.
