The 2025 Canadian National Master will be co-hosted by Pacific Rim Hunting Retriever Club and Upper Island retriever club.
The Pacific Rim Hunting Retriever Club (PRHRC) originally applied for CKC recognition on July 23, 1996, and became a recognized CKC club in April 1997 with 27 members. At the time, we were the only club on the island offering CKC hunt tests. Since inception, the club has grown steadily, anchored by their home training and testing location, the Ducks Unlimited “Swallowfield Farm”. In return for access to these lands, PRHRC works to support the conservation efforts of DU by acting as land stewards of the farm.
As a club, we aim to promote the hunting retriever sport and responsible dog ownership by training family and hunting companions. The club regularly holds training days, CKC Hunt Tests, and Working Certificate Tests, which are well attended by club members and other retriever dog sport enthusiasts.
Our membership is a mixed group of avid hunters, breeders and dog fanatics, mainly from Vancouver Island but also from the rest of BC and Alberta. Our members have competed and judged at both local and National level retriever tests.

The primary mandate of the UIRC is to promote and facilitate the training of gun dogs and their handlers, as well as to hold retriever events. To this end, the club offers retriever training classes, training days, mock tests and workshops, in addition to hosting two to three field events a year.
