History of Central Model School:
Established in 1983, Central Model School was founded by the Late HS Pathania and Late Tarsem Devi with a vision to bring quality education to the Sofi Pind area.
As the first private school in the region, we have grown from humble beginnings to become a respected institution known for nurturing young minds.
Over the years, our school has expanded and modernized, yet we remain deeply committed to the core values and vision of our founders.
Founders
Central Model School was born from a simple yet profound vision—to provide quality education at an affordable cost in a region where such opportunities were scarce. This vision was brought to life by our founders, H.S. Pathania and Tarsem Devi, who, with their deep commitment to education and community, established this institution with just one classroom.
H.S. Pathania was a scholar, holding Double MAs in English and Political Science, along with a B.Ed. He didn’t just dream of building a school; he literally built it with his own hands. Every brick laid, every wall constructed on the first floor, was a testament to his dedication and belief in the power of education. His hands-on involvement didn’t end with construction; his influence shaped the school’s ethos of integrity, hard work, and perseverance.
Tarsem Devi, with her B.Ed, was not only a co-founder but also a pillar of strength and wisdom for the school. Her commitment to the community was evident when she was elected as the Sarpanch of the village, showing her deep connection with the people and her passion for uplifting the community. Together, they faced numerous challenges, including health setbacks, but their resolve never wavered. Their legacy is carried on by the countless alumni who remember them not just as educators, but as generous and supportive figures in their lives.
After the passing of my mother in 2021, who had taken over the reins after my father’s death in 2017, I felt a profound sense of duty to continue the work my parents started. My mission has been to restore Central Model School to its former glory while adapting to the needs of modern education.
Recognizing the importance of early childhood education, I made the strategic decision to focus solely on foundational education, transforming our school into a dedicated kindergarten offering Pre-Nursery to UKG classes. In this new chapter, we have integrated technology and modern educational practices to create an environment where every child can thrive.
When we restarted, we had just 9 students. Today, I am proud to say that we have grown to over 100 students in just two years—a testament to the trust and confidence that parents place in us.
To all our current and prospective students and their families, I want to assure you that Central Model School remains committed to providing the best education at the most reasonable cost. Your child’s growth, learning, and well-being are at the heart of everything we do. We are here to ensure that every student receives a high-quality education that prepares them for a bright future.
