New York CMP Chinese School was founded in July 1991 and is affiliated with CMP. The principal is Weijing Shi. The school provides high-quality Mandarin Chinese education to students from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds, helping them to use Chinese fluently and learn about Chinese culture. Its educational philosophy is student-centered and teacher-guided, aiming to stimulate students' interest in learning Chinese and make learning enjoyable. The school prioritizes improving students' Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, and its teaching adheres to practicality, inspiration, fun, interactivity, and educational value. CMP Chinese School is a formally established Chinese language school providing elementary and junior high education, awarding graduation certificates.

The school offers Saturday classes, evening adult classes, and summer programs for the 2024-2025 academic year. Saturday classes combine in-person classes in the morning with online classes in the afternoon, offering 19 classes including kindergarten, grades 1-6 (elementary school), grades 7-9 (junior high), kid's drawing classes, and beginner-level adult Mandarin classes. The school operates on an academic year system, with two semesters per year: fall and spring, each semester lasting five months. Summer programs include half-day classes on Saturdays and full-day classes from Monday to Friday. Evening adult classes are held every Thursday evening. Teaching curriculum covers Han Yu Pin Yin, simplified and traditional Chinese characters, and textbooks used are published by Jinan University of China “Zhong Wen”, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission “Let's Learn Chinese”.  The school’s staff team is excellent, comprised of experienced teachers who graduated from colleges on the major of Education or Language Art in mainland China or Taiwan. There are a total of 28 staff included teachers and assistants.

Each academic year, Chinese School holds student recitation performances, essay and sentence-making competitions, and a "Book a Week" reading sharing activity. Graduation & Awards Ceremony also is taken place at the end of the school year, free Kid’s Mid-Autumn Drawing Contest is organized annually to the public, providing a platform for kids to explore and understand Chinese culture and depict their dreams and lives through art. Mak Kam Sheng Scholarship Awards, Wu Chuan Zhen Scholarship Awards and Hua Xing Scholarship Awards are given out at the end of the school year as well. In the 2024-2025 academic year, 680 students attended Saturday classes or summer classes, and all students showed varying degrees of improvement in their Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. 14 students received elementary certificates, and 2 students received junior high school graduation certificates; 35 students from different grades received academic excellence awards and scholarships; 45 students won awards and scholarships in the spring semester essay and sentence-making competition; 6 students won awards in the 7th Filial Piety Essay and Artwork Competition; and 142 essays and paintings were published in the Chinese Newspaper Worldjournal.
