I am an Assistant Professor at Anderson University, South Carolina. I recently earned my doctorate in computational mathematics from UNC Greensboro.
My first research project as an undergraduate focused on searching for three cycles in Cayley Graphs. When I was earning my master's degree, my advisor Dr. Joshua Hallam and I studied a new noncrossing analogue to the known bond lattice called the noncrossing bond poset. This work was continued as I begun to pursue my doctorate with Dr. Clifford Smyth. My current doctoral work is also focused on studying several graph invariants known as topological indices. This includes spectral radii and the Randić index (or branching index).
A little about me, I was born in Lexington, South Carolina. I attended Winthrop University, receiving my BS in mathematics in 2016. Even though I entered as a computer science major, it was at Winthrop that I discovered my passion for math! I had the privilege to follow in the footsteps of my amazing advisor, Dr. Jessie Hamm, by receiving my MA at Wake Forest University in 2018. After two years of late nights and brewing espresso at 3am while I desperately attempt to finish long algebra and combinatorics problem sets, I earned a place at UNC Greensboro. Here, I learned now to teach and how to become a stronger researcher. My 7 month old goddaughter enoyed reading my academic brother's dissertation almost as much as I did!
