2022 CA Mathematics Framework Revision: CMEC Feedback
CMEC's driving vision is to empower all California students in relevant mathematics learning for their educational and career aspirations. To achieve this vision, our collaborative work focuses on professional learning for educators, educational policy, expanding math courses and options, and student success.
In Spring 2022, we engaged in a collaborative review of the CA Mathematics Framework 2022 Revision, given the document's connections to and implications for our work across the state's PK-16 segments.
This letter represents CMEC's collective feedback. It is designed to uplift and affirm components of the Framework revision we agree with, as well as offer specific suggestions for areas needing clarity. Our comments aim to leverage the clarity of purpose about equitable access to advanced mathematics that we've been able to achieve through our work together over time.
Recommended Shifts in Policy and Practice for California
In 2022, CMEC members spent ten months identifying policy issues that provide opportunities for improved mathematics alignment and alliances between PK-12 and higher education. This set of recommendations came out of that work.
CMEC Glossary of Terms
