Interactive wall
Main idea: Create a “Why I read Banned Books” wall where people can write their thoughts and reflections on a banned book that has made an impact on their lives, or the reason they think books should not be banned.
Materials needed: colorful sticky notes and markers/pens on a small table beside the wall
Banned Books Displays
Main idea: Display showcasing banned books with information on why they were challenged.
Displays: censorship quotes, statistics related to book challenges, book summaries (could be on Banners, flyers, bookmarks)
Design/promotional ideas: caution tapes, “banned” stamps, blackout texts
Book collections and their summary
Trivia Challenge with rewards
A Google form of 16 trivia questions, contestants who score at least 75% can get a banned book as a reward. Answers and results will be disclosed 1 week after the event has ended (first week of October) via email to all contestants. A QR code will be provided for this form by the banned books display, and can only be answered only once per participant. Those who get 12 or more correct answers will be emailed additionally with pickup location and time for their reward.
