Adaptability:
The materials are adaptable to teacher's or learner's particular needs. Every component is presented both in a ready-to-use format (narrated PPTs as video hosted on Youtube, audio recordings, texts, self-graded quizzes) AND as raw materials for teachers to download and adapt to their own classroom (PowerPoint Files, audio recordings as MP3 files, word and PDF documents, google documents).
Depending on who the learners are, what the teaching facilities are, what the learning goals are, teachers can take the raw materials and modify them in the format of their preference. Or, teachers can simply direct students to use this website and report or show the results to their instructor.
Blended Learning:
The video clips and Powerpoint Presentations (PPTs) can be assigned and accessed by learners at their own pace. Alternatively, teachers can use the raw PPT slides and create their own voice-over narrations with a common screencasting tool, such as JING (free application developed by Techsmith.com) or "Snagit", and use them in their classrooms via their own Learning Management System (LMS).
Durability and Portability:
The site has been created using commonly available technology and freeware: Word processor; Powerpoint; Dropbox for large file sharing; Google Apps; Quizlet.com.
