Since 20xx your HOA Executive Board has been contracting with NOVEC on a phased-in basis to install street and pathway lamps to better light your community. Better lighting provides security, peace of mind, and an aesthetic beauty to the property at night.
The board had multiple on-location meetings (volunteered) to plan and then to measure the exact locations. One important goal was to create symmetry and aesthetic appeal within the concentric spaces designated by the existing curbs and driveway edges.
We started by adding 5 streetlamps to the entrances that connect with Cloverdale Road. Two each were installed at each of the first 2 entrances (counting from Benita Fitzgerald) and the 5th was installed to pair up with an existing lamp at the 3rd entrance. Now, each entrance has 2 lamps as you enter off of Cloverdale Road and leave into the right-of-way! These lamps also provide security by lighting the perimeter of our neighborhood along Cloverdale Rd.
In addition, meetings were held over a period of months with county officials in 2015 to add a large streetlamp between the 3rd entrance and the Cloverdale Park entrance. This was approved and installed adding a substantial benefit to our overall plan of reducing loitering at night and providing better security to the back of the adjacent homes that abutt Cloverdale Road. The county has a limited budget for existing community streetlamps and we are fortunate to have received one of their only several that are allotted each year for the entire county. This is due to a compelling appeal and regular follow-up by the board members during that period.
FUTURE LOCATIONS: An additional phase of the project is being planned to complete in early 2018 that will add 7 more lamps as diagrammed below.
