Productivity vs Procrastination
Look at the meme. Can you relate to it?
Today we are going to listen to a podcast about productivity and procrastination. To talk about these concepts, we can use some phrasal verbs and idioms. Match the phrase with its meaning.
Discuss the questions containing the phrases with a partner.
1) Have you put any plans on ice recently?
2) Have you ever shied away from doing anything difficult?
3) How do you feel when you are starting out on something new?
4) Do you think jumping in at the deep end is a good idea when learning a new language?
5) What is a tell-tale sign that someone is a procastinator?
Listen to the podcast and write down the symptoms of procrastination.
Work in groups and discuss the symptoms. Do you have one of them?
Monitor your everyday activities during the next week and try to find those that "eat" your time leading you to procrastination.
Fill in the table below.
At home you were supposed to track your activities and find those that "eat" your time. Now present your insights to the class.
