The Clinton Prairie School Foundation is pleased to announce that the Vergil and Marie Waggoner Scholarship is now fully funded, ensuring that it will be available to graduating seniors from Clinton Prairie on a permanent basis.
The primary sponsor of this scholarship, Rose-Marie (Waggoner) Venier stated, “My parents always encouraged my academic endeavors. When I was attending Clinton Prairie High School, they supported my musical activities. My dad, a farmer and former Colfax school bus driver, shared his love of travel with me. My mother, a former librarian at the Colfax Public Library, fostered my love of reading. They planned that I would go to Purdue, become a teacher, and be able to support myself economically. I am grateful for the sacrifices they made for me. With love and appreciation, I have established the Vergil and Marie Waggoner Scholarship in their memory. It is my hope that many more young people will have an opportunity to further their education.”
We are extremely grateful to the Venier and Waggoner families, along with others who have contributed in the creation of this scholarship, for their generous support of the Clinton Prairie community.

The Clinton Prairie School Foundation, in cooperation with the family & friends of Brenda Weflen and the Clinton Prairie Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), are pleased to announce the establishment of the ‘Brenda Weflen Brighter Future Memorial Scholarship’.
Mrs. Weflen was a Clinton Prairie graduate and taught sixth grade at Clinton Prairie Elementary for 34 years before retiring in 2016. She was known for her passion for teaching, determination, positive attitude, and infectious smile. Mrs. Weflen made a positive impact on hundreds of Clinton Prairie students during her career.
After her passing in June of 2020, it was decided to establish this new scholarship to honor her legacy and provide assistance to Clinton Prairie High School graduates achieve their ‘brighter future’. This scholarship will be offered for the first time in 2021.
We are extremely grateful to the family and friends of Brenda Weflen – and the entire Clinton Prairie community – for their support of this scholarship.
If you would like to donate to this scholarship fund so that we may continue to offer it for many years to come, please send your donation to:

The Clinton Prairie School Foundation is pleased to announce that starting in 2019 we will be offering the “Joe and Jeanette Lahrman Family Scholarship”. Longtime supporters of Clinton Prairie, Joe and Jeanette have three children and five grandchildren who are CP graduates, one great-grandchild who is a current CP student, and two family members on the CP faculty. Joe Lahrman, who established this permanent scholarship, was a member of the CPHS and CPES Building Corporations, and a former CP School Foundation board member. We are extremely grateful for their past involvement in the CP community and for their future investment in our students!
The Clinton Prairie School Foundation is pleased to announce that starting in 2019 we will be offering the “William and Barbara Kelley Scholarship”. Mr. & Mrs. Kelley were well known in this community for their dedication to education, their faith, and their family. It is in that spirit that brothers Travis and Matthew Kelley have established this permanent scholarship in their parent's memory - and we could not be more delighted about this new opportunity for our CP students. We are extremely grateful for their support!

You may have noticed our new logo! Earlier this year the Clinton Prairie School Foundation announced a contest for Clinton Prairie students to submit a logo design for use by the CPSF. We received 20 submissions from CP students for our new logo. The logo design winner was Gavin Smith and his original design is shown below. We took Gavin's design to a local graphic artist, Stephen Weintraut II, who modified the design for use on CPSF letterhead, our website, and other social and traditional media. The final design is also shown below.
We thank Gavin for inspiring us with our new logo, we are excited to officially share it!
