The Central Alabama chapter of the Climate Reality Project proposes a five-cent tax on plastic bags within the City of Tuscaloosa. This fee will occur in grocery stores, convenience stores, and pharmacies. The revenue collected will be used to support projects and programs that benefit environmental sustainability and community support. We plan to present this resolution by the end of 2026.
