Clicker: TV Remote App ("Clicker", "we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what our mobile application does and does not do with your information.
In short: we do not collect any data. Clicker has no user accounts, no servers of our own, no advertising, and no analytics.
By downloading and using the app, you agree to this policy.
We do not collect any personal information. Clicker does not require an account or login. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, home address, device identifiers, or usage data. We operate no server that receives data from the app.
Clicker requests the following device permissions. Each is used only on your device or on your own local network:
To find and control your TV, Clicker needs access to your Local Network. It uses this to discover compatible TVs on the same Wi-Fi network and to send remote control commands from your iPhone or iPad directly to your TV.
All communication between the app and your TV happens entirely within your local Wi-Fi network.
We do not route, collect, or store your remote control commands, your TV viewing activity, or your network information.
Clicker does not use Bluetooth.
If you use the voice control feature, Clicker requests access to your Microphone and to Speech Recognition. Your speech is converted to text using Apple's Speech Recognition service, and the resulting text is sent to your TV as a command. Depending on your device and language settings, Apple may process the audio on its servers under Apple's own privacy policy. We never receive, record, upload, or store your voice data.
To cast media to your TV, Clicker requests access to your Photo Library and, if you cast music, your Music Library. When you select a file, the app runs a temporary web server on your device, on your local network only, and your TV plays the file directly from your device. Your photos, videos, and music never leave your local network, and we never upload, transfer, or store them.
Clicker does not perform screen mirroring.
If you use the Sleep Timer, Clicker requests permission to send notifications. These are local notifications generated on your device to tell you the timer has finished. The app has no push notification server.
Clicker contains no advertising and no analytics. It integrates no advertising network, no analytics SDK, no attribution SDK, and no crash reporting service. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, and does not track you across apps or websites.
Clicker is free and contains no In-App Purchases or subscriptions. We never see or handle any payment information.
We do not share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any. Clicker makes only two categories of connection outside your local network, both to Apple:
Apple's iTunes Lookup API, to download the icons of streaming apps shown in the TV app list. The request contains only a public numeric app ID and no information about you or your device.
Apple's Speech Recognition service, as described in section 1.2, and only while you are actively using voice control.
The app's only third-party software component is Swifter, an open-source web server library that runs entirely on your device to serve media to your TV during casting. It transmits nothing to us or to anyone else.
We retain no data, because we collect none. Your photos, videos, music, and voice input stay on your device or travel directly to your TV on your local network. Your app settings, themes, and saved TVs are stored only on your device and are removed when you delete the app.
Clicker is rated 4+ on the App Store. Because we collect no personal data from anyone, we collect none from children.
Because Clicker stores your information only on your own device and sends nothing to us, there is no server of ours that could be breached. Communication with your TV stays on your local Wi-Fi network and uses the security mechanisms provided by each TV manufacturer's own protocol.
You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security, or in Settings > Clicker. There is no data deletion request to make, because we hold no data about you. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision, and we encourage you to review this page periodically.
