Choral Music Staff
Mr. Kris Ornelas is the Director of Choirs at Cleveland Charter High School. He is a teacher, singer, composer, and keyboardist, and holds an A.A. degree in Vocal Performance, a B.A. degree in Choral Music Education, and an M.M. in Choral Conducting.

As a performer, Mr. O has had the privilege of singing in venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, The Greek Theater, Segerstrom Concert Hall, and The Walt Disney Concert Hall, and has shared the stage with performers such as Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Billy Idol, The Who, M83, and others.

In 2018, Mr. Ornelas was recognized as LAUSD’s Rookie Teacher of the Year. Mr. Ornelas is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Philosophy from The University of Edinburgh. He is also the Music Director at Heart of the Canyons Church in Newhall, and an adjunct music professor at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita.
